Microcab has pioneered the design of lean weight, hydrogen fuel cell vehicles from its base in Coventry, UK, supported by Coventry University, a shareholder in the company. The Microcab team has 12 years experience in the design of hydrogen vehicles, having integrated a range of fuel cells into various new vehicle designs from 2001. All vehicles are specifically designed to improve air quality, with zero emissions at point of use, and be extremely efficient, supporting the global sustainability agenda as resources become more scarce.
The Microcab vision foresees a ‘New Mobility’ where alternate ownership models (such as car clubs) allow vehicle platforms to be designed within the paradigm of a continuous economy. This shift will bring together new business and ownership models, lean weight design and zero emission powertrains, connected and autonomous control architecture all coming together to give flexible, clean and integrated mobility with the user at its centre.
